Rock-solid old fashioned Louisiana seafood and steak inn. We saw folks here from all generations. Do not miss the oysters!! I was amazed and how sweet they were. And huge!! We ordered big meals, otherwise I'd have ordered another dozen. They'll bring extra horseradish and etc if you want it, but we found the sauce to be just right and almost superfluous since the oysters were so good on their own. Our entrees were the stuffed peppers. I had the crab stuffing, my husband had the crawfish. We each thought ours was the better dish. If you're looking for some color, get the baked sweet potato and they brought me steamed green beans on request. It may not be on the main drag in the historic area, but take the time to try this place!

Food is great, and I'd say a bit on the more delicacy side instead of the common fried seafood dishes the area is better known for. Hey, I even prefer their broiled mushrooms over the fried which is something I never thought I'd say...or type. They have an assortment of dishes ranging from simple gumbo to stuffed flounder smothered in a seafood gravy. This is more of a once every now and then kind of place for most people Id say, or maybe even just for special occasions. Dress can be casual but why not look nice to match the well decorated ambiance of an older southern seafood restaurant. It's designed quite similar to a Red Lobster, but with a touch more class. There are several seating areas, and if you'd like it more quiet I'd request a table upfront that's more secluded. Waiters sometimes may be mixed up or overloaded so that is something to watch out for, but they are more than courteous if you let them know you've been waiting on something for a while. Their dishes are fresh and full of flavor. The stuffed crab will blow your mind along with the crab soufflé. Mmmmm thinking about it now makes me want to see if they're open after midnight. Don't get me wrong. Not everything there is a home run, but hey it's hard to find a place with so many options that can be. If you have a few extra bucks you don't mind parting with give it a shot. You may even see me there.

Prices are high for what you get - average blue plate special type of food in my opinion. I had the daily special of roast chicken dinner. It came w/beans, potatoes, bread. Nothing special here - it was all dark meat chicken also so I was disappointed. My daughter had the crab cake which I tasted. Not really impressed. I didn't really taste crab but it was loaded w/cream cheese which is weird. My son had alligator and asked for half to be fried and half grilled. This wasn't a problem and was accomodated but both preparations were incredibly salty. Service was good.

Our server was very nice. However the food wasn't worth what we paid for. We ordered the appetizer sampler which included shrimp, alligator, catfish and crab fingers. Server told us they were out of crab fingers, so we added more shrimp. Not only were the shrimp small, but there wasn't alligator on the platter, instead there were these fried balls with crawfish étouffée stuff. I ordered ribeye for dinner and it had so much seasoning, I couldn't taste the meat. Very disappointed. However, again, our server Mary was wonderful and very nice. I would give her 5 stars! Wine list could be updated to actually have decent wine, but after eating the food, it suited the menu. Sorry :/

The food is average at best, mine was cold. It took forever to get our food. The service was terrible and management had an attitude. I live in this town and would never go back. The atmosphere is not that great as well. Could use a serious remodeling.

I wouldn't take a shit in this place. I couldn't anyways. If the toilet works like the service, food & atmosphere, I'm in trouble, I'm broke and I'll have a shitty taste in my mouth. I ate here back in January, and all I can remember was a little shrimp poking out of my watered-down gumbo, yelling, "Help. Help. Take me with you."

We went to the Little River Inn for lunch on the recommendation of a lady at the local tourist info center, and were not disappointed. I had an excellent gumbo with some great sausage in it. My wife had crab meat sauteed in butter which was also v. good -- you could taste the sweet crab. It seemed generally to be a good place.

Over my 32 years as a resident of New Iberia, I have dined in this restaurant about 6 to 8 times. Today's experience will be my last. I asked the waitress for a small, grilled, flounder. She said that was a good thing because they were out of large. Then she returned and said they only had large flounder. I then chose a flounder fillet. My meal included a choice of potato, and a side salad. I asked for the stuffed potato. It was supposed to have bacon, chives, cheese, and sour cream. My salad consisted of a very small hand full of iceberg lettuce, with a slice of tomato on top. There were some shavings of purple cabbage, that one would really need a microscope to identify. My baked potato was prepared some time earlier and was very dry. It was cold, small, and void of flavor. My friend ordered a medium size bowl of crawfish bisque. When it came out it was cold as ice, and did not appear to be bisque at all. He had a crab cake he said was poor at best, and the baked potato and salad was identical to mine. We have two glasses of iced tea. The bill was over $60.00. We have a couple of restaurants in town where the food is much less expensive and offers larger portions, They are Duffy's Diner and Bon Creole. If you don't mind the trip, drive to Abbeville to Shucks Oyster Bar. Shucks has a great assortment of seafood, and the oysters are delicious. The oysters served in Louisiana restaurants have been mostly small over the past few years thanks to the gulf oil disaster. They are now showing good signs of improvement. I read a review on here of someone having huge oysters. My thought of huge oysters differs from there's.

Food is just OK. If you expect good service with your meal - go somewhere else. If you are new to the area and want good seafood - go somewhere else. Management is is very poor when it comes to quality food and providing a welcome atmosphere.

Large restaurant. Friendly service. Food was o.k. Crab stuffed fish had decent flavor but was greasy. Biscuits appeared to be package variety, not homemade. Pre-sweetened iced tea was loaded with sugar. I had asked for a special order, they messed it up and I did not have time to wait for the replacement, server did apologize, I requested twice that it just be removed from bill, but the final bill was still for full amount. Diner quality food at restaurant prices.
